Moshi Park Scenic Area is in Daofu county in southwestern Sichuan province. With the unique geographical landscape, the park is a national 4A level attraction. The area is famous for stone forest. The amazing forest came into being due thousand of years’ geographic movement and weathering. And the place was also one of Gesar’s growing places. Today it has become a popular geological science center. Moreover, the attraction has won the praise of “China’s Eighth Most Beautiful Boulevard”. However, the park was just open to public in 2017.
Moshi Park Highlights
1. Kama River
The river is one of Daofu’s 541 mountain streams. The water is very fresh. There are many tributaries as well.
Legend has it that long ago Gesar’s wife Zhumu dropped a scarf on this land when she was traveling. Thus it became the Kama River. Since then, the river has nourished the stone forest and locals.
2. Tibetan countryside
The best time to enjoy the Tibetan countryside is summertime. Tourists can get a glimpse of the Tibetan yards in the lush forests.
3. Hippophae rhamnoides Linn
Hippophae rhamnoides Linn is a species of flowering plant.It is 1.5 meters high. Its flowering period is from April to May. And the plant can be used to food and cosmetics and even medicine.
4. Ecological garden
The park has many rare plants such as Cordyceps, Fritillaria, rhubarb, Euphorbia flower, Notopterygium, three needles and so on. In addition, there are also many flat sticks there.
5. Animal paradise
The park is home to the Himalayan marmot, crow, mouth grouse, Tibetan horses, rock sheep, sheep and other plateau wild animals.
6. Mylon rock forest
Due to the Quaternary Neotectonic movement as well the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the rocks in the fresh water river fault zone are crushed and milled to form the Mylon stone forest.
